Say Their Names Celebrates Oceanside Students
Thank You From a 2024 Recipient
Dear Members of Say Their Names,
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to you for choosing me as a recipient of the United for Change Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is an incredible honor, and I am deeply appreciative of your support in my academic and community endeavors. As a Black student committed to making a positive impact in my community, this scholarship represents more than just financial assistance.
Through your generosity, I can now get one step closer to achieving my academic goals and in the long run give back to my community. I am deeply appreciative of your commitment to support young black students and all the good that you do. At Stony Brook University, I currently plan to major in Chemistry, and hope to go to medical school. There were times when my dream of pursuing an MD as along with undergrad seemed like an overwhelming academic burden, but the financial assistance you have provided me has helped me tremendously to start off my first undergraduate year.
With the support of this scholarship, I will be able to focus more on my studies and less on financial burdens, further allowing me to achieve my aspirations. Once again, thank you for your generosity and support. Your investment in my education and future is profoundly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth C.,
